The Race - La Carrera is a book about friendship, kindness, cars and kids - I created it for Lucas, my grandson, but I want you to read it too.
In this story Lucas and Violeta learn about kindness and friendship when they decide to have a race.
The real Lucas is my grandson, who lives by the river in Madrid, a long way away from Brighton, where I live. This book is my way of trying to be part of Lucas’s life every day, until he’s bored of the book or his racing car.
The first limited edition of The Race (V1) was printed so that I could take it to Lucas in Madrid, along with a shiny silver car that I found in a Brighton charity shop.
